A vintage HO slot cars collection

#1 von slotcar7 , 27.06.2011 14:42

Hi guys, i live in London and my biggest interest is vintage slot car sets and slot cars: at the moment i've got about 500 sets and hundreds of slot cars, and also, as you can see in my other post, EWF trolleybuses, etc..

I think it could be useful for everyone to exchange opinions and pieces of knowledge..me, i always want to learn, and if you need some information i can give you..that's ok

Let's start with a couple of the most famous HO slots, a Chevrolet Impala and a Ford lorry (early version, without any load), produced in 1959, by the British company Playcraft..these are two rare slots, because they were produced for just a couple of years: in fact, these slots (and the sets, called "Playcraft Highways") didn't sell well at all, and the manufacturer was later bought by an American company, Aurora..and from that moment on the success arrived

So, from a British failure, an American success was born..!

I've put them on a Egger Silberpfeil 1/40 layout made in Munchen in 1968, that i improved with some real moss and a bonsai tree to make everything look more real..enjoy.. david

Hi David
Of course the Impalla ist one of the rarest Modell.

I thing you know the side from Holger Heimes from Colongne/Germany?? Geogus is his name on EBAY
This is also a collector of Slotcars and Trollybusses. I thing it is the biggest h0 Slotcarcollection in Germany.
The cars he collect are only for Traffic and not for Race.

Didn´t you interested to build one Modul like the Modelrailroader?
Take a look of the Side from the IG-h0slot Verkehrsbahner. This page is at time only in German, but i would translate this page in more languages.

Best regards
Lothar

P.S.
Do you know same h0slotcar Racer, to Race at the h0 Racingdays?
The Racers last year are from Germany, Austria, France, Swiss.
More information are here

Schöne Grüße
Lothar

schau mal hier: http://modelmotorist.com/web-content/tjetvil.jsp

Also, falls jemand was benötigt bitte melden.....

Gruss

Michael
